Gabriel and Isaac Fortoul are an outstandingly prolific pair totally dedicated to unfolding their creativity as a way of life. Their art has been evolving and will continue to evolve in search of the purest style combining everyday observation with mystical symbolism. Their pieces are the product of philosophical meditation on the ultimate meaning of human existence and on how to live closer to nature and in touch with the elemental forces of the cosmos.

The FORTOUL BROTHERS art is influenced by their preoccupation with dreams, mystery and evocative symbols. The result is a combination of the ordinary with suggestions of the extraordinary in a single peice of work, thus leaving all final interpretation open to debate but always touching the deepest emotional fibers of the viewer.

DD172 :: Dash Gallery

INAUGURAL EXHIBTION :: TRIBECA, NYC :: 2010

FEATURED ARTISTS :: ISAAC FORTOUL, BOBBY CASTAÑEDA, HEATHER GARGON, HECTOR RUIZ

As expected, the Damon Dash Gallery opening hosted by Gabriel Fortoul, ensued a huge crowd and police barricades were enlisted to help control the scene outside. Inside, fascinatingly huge and at times ominous, works of art adorned the walls of the three-story Tribeca space. As hundreds (literally) buzzed about the artist’s compound at 172 Duane St. it was obvious that the DD clan is focused on putting their own stamp on art in America. We’re just glad we finally got in.
